Our Manager Regli Álvarez received the Medal of the Province of Cádiz.

It is a source of pride for all of us in the Califa Group to receive such a significant recognition as the Medal of the Province of Cadiz, which is awarded every year by the Provincial Council to people and companies “whose career have contributed to improve our lives”. And we are especially excited this year as we celebrate our 20th anniversary.

The director of the group, Regli Alvarez, received the award last Saturday, March 19 in a ceremony presided over by the head of the Provincial Council, Irene Garcia, in the Salón Regio of the Provincial Palace. “It is an honor for me to receive this Medal of the Province of Cadiz. I want to share it with all those who have made our Califa possible! A magical place of which not only I feel proud, every family member, friends, staff and vejeriegos also feel it as their own”, says the director of the Group.

During the awards ceremony, the Cádiz journalist Ana Huguet, in charge of conducting the event, reviewed the Group’s history, which began in the 1990s when the Vejerian Regli Álvarez and the Scotsman James Stuart (CEO of the company) founded Discover Andalucía, an adventure company dedicated, above all, to cycling routes. They later refurbished some houses in Vejer’s Plaza de España to turn them into a boutique hotel, La Casa del Califa and since then, the business has expanded to four hotels; a house rental service in Vejer’s old town; three restaurants, two cafés and a new project that will be launched in April, the Hammam de Vejer.

The journalist also emphasised the quality of all the establishments that make up the group and which have become “a focus of tourist attraction”.

A recognition that endorses the daily effort of all the people who form part of the company.
