Vejer enters the final days of August with a week that still carries the full energy of summer. Flamenco, live music, contemporary art, evening tours and outdoor experiences<\/strong> take place across the historic centre, El Palmar and Montenmedio before September begins.<\/p>\n

From 27 August to 3 September 2026<\/strong>, these are some of the most interesting events and activities to enjoy in Vejer and the surrounding area.<\/p>\n

Thursday 27 August<\/h4>\n

As the sun begins to set, El Palmar fills with music once again with Negro Cherokee, Jairo de Remate and Nani Cort\u00e9s<\/strong> at Chiringuito El Arenal, and Mirrorball<\/strong> at El Pico de la Ola.<\/p>\n

Back in Vejer, at 9 pm, discover a different side of the town with La Noche Oscura de Vejer<\/strong>, the guided tour with live singing by Marimantas Vejer. At 9.30 pm, Taberna Flamenca Caragato welcomes Nano de Marbella<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Friday 28 August<\/h4>\n

Dance comes to the Teatro Municipal San Francisco<\/strong> with Falla en Movimiento<\/em>, performed by the Ballet Joven de C\u00e1diz, at 9 pm. Admission is free.<\/p>\n

One of the week’s most distinctive experiences takes place at 10 pm at the Fundaci\u00f3n Montenmedio Contempor\u00e1nea<\/strong>, with a guided visit under the full moon<\/strong>. The activity costs \u20ac30 and advance booking is essential.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the Antigua Iglesia del Rosario hosts an evening of flamenco with Alejandro Silva on vocals, Beatriz Santiago dancing and Juan Antonio G\u00f3mez on guitar<\/strong>, with free admission.<\/p>\n

In El Palmar, sunset comes with its own soundtrack courtesy of La Fabi & Zambullo<\/strong> at El Arenal and Son de Bares<\/strong> at El Pico de la Ola.<\/p>\n

Saturday 29 August<\/h4>\n

Saturday offers plenty to do from early in the day. At 10 am, Montenmedio Contempor\u00e1nea hosts Yoga en el Museo<\/strong>, while the Bre\u00f1a y Marismas del Barbate Natural Park offers a guided visit to the Torre del Tajo<\/strong> from 10 am to 2 pm.<\/p>\n

At sunset, Fundaci\u00f3n Montenmedio offers the chance to experience one of its most distinctive works with a visit to James Turrell’s light sequence<\/strong>, an approximately 40-minute experience designed to transform the perception of light and space.<\/p>\n

Also at sunset, Chiringuito El Arenal welcomes Remedios Amaya<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The evening continues in Vejer with La Noche Oscura de Vejer<\/em> at 9 pm and, at 10 pm, flamenco at the Antigua Iglesia del Rosario with Agust\u00edn Manche\u00f1o on vocals, Melisa Pic\u00f3n Rivero dancing and David de la Jeroma on guitar<\/strong>. In La Muela, Palomy L\u00f3pez<\/strong> performs at Bar Carupsso at 10 pm.<\/p>\n

Sunday 30 August<\/h4>\n

Sunday is another good opportunity to visit the Bre\u00f1a y Marismas del Barbate Natural Park<\/strong>, with another guided visit to the Torre del Tajo from 10 am to 2 pm.<\/p>\n

At sunset, visitors can once again experience James Turrell’s light sequence<\/strong> at Montenmedio Contempor\u00e1nea.<\/p>\n

In El Palmar, summer begins to draw to a close with a farewell party featuring guest artists at El Arenal<\/strong>, while Four Monkeys<\/strong> perform at El Pico de la Ola.<\/p>\n

In the evening, the guided tour with live singing, La Noche Oscura de Vejer<\/em>, continues, departing from Plaza de Espa\u00f1a at 9 pm.<\/p>\n

Monday 31 August<\/h4>\n

The final day of the month continues with guided tours through Vejer’s historic centre, with both Vejer Freetours<\/strong> and Vejer Tour<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In El Palmar, Diego de Gloria<\/strong> performs at sunset at El Pico de la Ola. At 9 pm, La Noche Oscura de Vejer<\/em> once again departs from Plaza de Espa\u00f1a.<\/p>\n

It is also the final day to visit some of the temporary exhibitions that have accompanied the month of August.<\/p>\n

Tuesday 1 September<\/h4>\n

September begins with further opportunities to explore Vejer’s historic quarter through the different guided tours scheduled throughout the morning and afternoon.<\/p>\n

From 8 pm, the Pe\u00f1a Cultural Flamenca<\/strong>, on Calle Rosario, hosts its flamenco gathering<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

At 9 pm, La Noche Oscura de Vejer<\/em> takes place once again, offering a different way to discover the town’s stories and legends after sunset.<\/p>\n

Wednesday 2 September<\/h4>\n

On Wednesday, the Teatro Municipal San Francisco<\/strong> hosts a screening of the short film \u00c1ngel<\/em>, by Gary Hamill<\/strong>, at 7.45 pm. The screening will be followed by a flamenco performance by Diego de Gloria<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Guided tours through the historic centre and La Noche Oscura de Vejer<\/em> complete the day’s programme.<\/p>\n

Thursday 3 September<\/h4>\n

The week ends as it began, with the El Chorrillo street market<\/strong>, from 9 am to 2 pm.<\/p>\n

Throughout the day, guided tours exploring Vejer’s historic quarter will continue and, at 9 pm, there will be another opportunity to join La Noche Oscura de Vejer<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Art and exhibitions to round off the week<\/h3>\n

Beyond the daily programme, several temporary exhibitions can still be visited over the coming days.<\/p>\n

Until 30 August<\/strong>, the Museum of History and Archaeology of Vejer hosts La misma orilla, dos tiempos<\/em>, by Carlos Monta\u00f1o and Mar\u00eda Ponce<\/strong>, while Entorno<\/em>, by Juan Manuel Basallote and Antonio Larrubia<\/strong>, can be seen until 31 August<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Centro de las Artes Antigua Iglesia del Rosario continues to host the photography and illustration exhibition Flamencas ilustradas<\/em>, by Isa de la Calle and Susana Subirana<\/strong>, until the end of August.<\/p>\n

And for those looking to combine culture and nature, the Fundaci\u00f3n Montenmedio Contempor\u00e1nea<\/strong> remains one of the essential places to visit around Vejer, with its sculpture park integrated into the landscape of the Dehesa de Montenmedio.<\/p>\n

A week to say goodbye to August between town and coast, combining flamenco, art, walks, nature and those final summer evenings that still invite you to enjoy Vejer outdoors.<\/p>\n
