There is another side to Vejer after the summer. Temperatures become milder, the beaches regain their sense of calm and the pace of the town changes, but the calendar remains full. And among the events that define autumn in this part of the Costa de la Luz, one has grown to international proportions: the Vejer Sunshine Tour.<\/p>\n

Just a few kilometres from the historic old town, Dehesa Montenmedio once again becomes a meeting point this autumn for some of the big names in international equestrian sport.<\/a><\/p>\n

Andaluc\u00eda October Tour 2026: three weeks of competition in Vejer<\/h3>\n

The VI Andaluc\u00eda October Tour 2026 will take place from 13 October to 8 November<\/strong> at the Sunshine Tour facilities in Montenmedio, Vejer de la Frontera.<\/p>\n

For several weeks, horses, riders and teams from different countries will once again transform this corner of La Janda into one of the centres of international equestrian competition.<\/p>\n

The setting is also part of the appeal. The arenas are surrounded by nature and the distinctive landscape of the area, just a short distance from both Vejer and the C\u00e1diz coast.<\/p>\n

An event that goes far beyond equestrian sport<\/h3>\n

The Sunshine Tour has been part of Vejer\u2019s recent identity for more than three decades, and its figures give a clear idea of its scale.<\/p>\n

The winter edition<\/a> held at the beginning of 2026 brought together 1,200 riders from 60 countries and 3,800 horses in Montenmedio, while also attracting around 60,000 visitors over the weeks of competition.<\/p>\n

But the impact of the Sunshine Tour can also be felt beyond the arenas. During these months, it is common to come across international riders, teams and visitors in Vejer, choosing the town and its surroundings as a place to stay, eat or simply make the most of their days off between competitions.<\/p>\n

One of Montenmedio\u2019s great advantages is precisely its location.
From the competition grounds, it is easy to reach Vejer de la Frontera\u2019s historic old town, as well as Los Ca\u00f1os de Meca, Zahora, El Palmar and Cape Trafalgar.<\/p>\n

A day of competition can therefore end with a stroll through Vejer\u2019s whitewashed streets, dinner around Plaza de Espa\u00f1a, a hammam<\/a> session or sunset with a view.<\/p>\n
