September is one of those months when Vejer and the Cádiz coast can be enjoyed in a different way. Summer is still very much present, the days remain long and the beach has lost none of its appeal, but the pace begins to change.
It is a wonderful time to explore the town again, discover its natural surroundings, enjoy some art, make time for a little wellbeing or simply find a beautiful spot from which to watch the sun go down.
If you are thinking about a getaway, here are 9 ways to enjoy September in Vejer and the surrounding area.
1. Wander through Vejer’s historic old town
There is always a good reason to wander through Vejer again. Stroll through its whitewashed streets without a fixed route, pass beneath the Arco de las Monjas, stop at one of its viewpoints and discover courtyards, small shops and hidden corners that can easily go unnoticed when the town is at the height of its summer buzz.
In September, simply walking around becomes one of the best ways to enjoy Vejer.

2. Head back to the beach at El Palmar
Summer does not end when August does. September still brings wonderful beach days in El Palmar, with kilometres of sand for walking, swimming, surfing or simply spending the day beside the Atlantic.
And as the afternoon begins to fade, it is worth staying to watch one of the sunsets that make this beach one of the most special places on the Cádiz coast.
