Califa’s Christmas charity campaign, ‘A Thousand and One Illusions,’ is focused on supporting the elderly members of the Vejer Alzheimer’s Association

Christmas is a time for sharing, giving, and remembering all the good things we have. And at Califa, we understand that. That’s why this year we wanted to dedicate our solidarity campaign to those who need it most: our elders.

With a baking workshop, we want to bring a little joy to the users of AFA Vejer, the Alzheimer’s Association of our town, next Thursday, December 19th. The goal, according to Regli Álvarez, the group’s director, is “to bring a little hope to our elders during these special times.” “Christmas is a time to share and celebrate with family. We want our elders to also be able to enjoy this tradition, and what better way to do it than by preparing traditional holiday sweets together,” says Ana Durán, director of Califa hotels.

An initiative that has numerous benefits for Alzheimer’s patients, as explained by Mª Carmen Mejías Duarte, president of AFA Vejer: “It helps with cognitive stimulation, promoting autonomy, reminiscing about how to make a recipe, exercising memory, reconnecting with the past and promoting socialization. We are very grateful to Califa Vejer for this beautiful and solidary initiative.”

So, next December 19th, we’ll be putting on our aprons for a good cause! Stay tuned to our social media for more details 😉
