As every year, a new gastronomic proposal arrives promising to delight all the senses. At El Jardín del Califa, we have been inspired by the most comforting flavors and authentic recipes from the Middle East and North Africa to create our autumn-winter menu. Immerse yourself in a culinary experience that combines tradition and sustainability, with dishes that stand out for their authenticity, flavor, and fresh ingredients, mostly from our own garden.
Soups and Creams: Warmth in every spoon
To start, our menu invites you to enjoy the delicacy of Cream of chestnut soup , an explosion of smoothness and flavor, perfect for the cooler days. We also suggest the exotic Shorbet Adas lentils, an Arabic red lentil soup with vegetables and paprika.

Fresh salads with a special touch
For those seeking something light, our seasonal salads are an unbeatable option. In this section, we present the Khadi Salad, a warm salad prepared with natural wheat, chicken, red and green peppers; while the Sakina Salad surprises with its balanced and vibrant flavors such as its ingredients: orange, laban, beetroot, walnuts, leaves with orange, honey, and lemon vinaigrette.
House specialties: warmth and flavor in every bite
In our new autumn-winter menu, we highlight the Leg of lamb ‘Zanjabil’, a recipe that combines the tenderness of the meat with the aromatic touch of ginger, creating a tender and nuanced dish that will transport you to the heart of the Middle East and North Africa. For seafood lovers, our Moroccan sardine balls with tomato and mussels are a delight. This perfect combination of sea and garden results in an explosion of Mediterranean flavors.
In the Tagine section, another star dish of this season is the Chestnut & lamb tagine, that’s mean, lamb, slow cooked, with chestnuts & raisins. This dish is perfect for those seeking warmth and flavor in every bite, taking advantage of one of the most emblematic fruits of autumn.

For those who prefer the flavors of the sea, The tuna & vegetable skewer on the barbecue with onion and oregano sauce, is an excellent choice.

Among the novelties of this season, the Cous Cous Dawood Basha stands out, with Arabic-style beef meatballs with couscous and vegetables. This traditional dish takes us directly to the aromas and flavors of the Middle East and North Africa.

Another new addition to the menu is the barbecue dish: Beef sirloin ‘retinto’ steak. Beef sirloin, certified organic from local farms with Pedro Ximenez sauce, grilled potatoes and vegetables.
As usual, El Jardín del Califa maintains the great classics of the menu such as pastela, magluba, mezze, Aleppo eggplant and other delicious delicacies from the Middle East and North Africa. In addition to these dishes, the menu includes a section of artisanal desserts, which deserves a special mention and that we will soon reveal in detail.

One more year, the Chef’s Suggestions return, proposals that will change every month so you can discover new recipes from North Africa and the Middle East, made with the best local ingredients.
In addition to the gastronomic aspect, the restaurant’s atmosphere, with its historical charm and warm ambiance, turns every visit into a sensory journey through the Middle East and North Africa.
Enjoy your meal!
